sight3.jpg I have a front sight issue on my 3" Ruger LCRx .357. The front sight pin is not centered on the barrel housing. I returned gun to Ruger mid-November for repair along with the barrel crown with a detailed description of the issues. Ruger returned it to me yesterday with a new barrel insert but nothing done to correct the sight. I don't know whether it was just oversight on their part or it's within their tolerance. The packing slip stated that they "Replaced barrel, front sight and front sight pin" I had removed the front sight and pin to install a HiViz sight when I discovered the problem and noticed the crown problem at that time. After receiving it back I contacted CS via Ruger email and they immediately sent a shipping label. Problem is, it doesn't work out with my time constraints, as I'm going out of town for an extended period. Now I'm contemplating fixing this myself. I have an idea of what of how I would go about it but, would like to hear from others as to what their approach would be.

I know its tempting to attempt a repair yourself, however you will void your warranty if you do. If the warranty isnt something you care about then go for it.

You can also try making arrangements with Ruger as to them repairing your gun and holding it until you will be back in town. Or send it out through a local FFL and have it returned to the FFL who can hold it until you return.

Or just w wait till you get back to send it. I would email that pix to the mothership and ask them if that is normal first though. Did you try it to see how it shot before you sent it in though? I have seen some really funky front sights that were accurate shooters in the past.

I have the rear sights moved far right. It's never been consistent.. I attribute that to the messed up crown. I'm going to put the Hi Viz sight on and get it to the range and see what it's doing.
