I'm going to try and load up a batch of 160, 140 and 135gr ftx bullets. I got the 135gr ftx bullets because they are flat base and some rifles just don't like boat tails for some reason.
But any how I couldn't help but notice that the leverevolution load for the 160gr bullet is 37gr in the hornady manual and on the 2019 jug of leverevolution I have.
Then the 140gr ftx bullet max load is 35gr. What gives both are boat tails?
The other powders show higher charge weight for the lighter ftx bullet, as you would expect.
I haven't even started load development for the 140 and 135 yet.

The 140gr Monoflex (technically it’s not a FTX) is a mono metal construction. No lead core.
Pressures run higher due to a lack of compressibility (malleability) and higher engraving forces. Hence less powder. Barnes X, TSX, and TTSX are the same.

Be sure to watch your case lengths. .30-30’s tend to grow, especially if you over size the cases.
My guns really like LVR.
