30 carbine shellholder

I'm using lee dies to reload my 30 carbine, and they came with a #7 shellholder. It doesn't fit well at all. it's like it's made for something with a much thicker rim.

does anybody know a good shellholder? a different lee? a lyman? hornady?

I found the same thing regarding the Lee shellholder. Bought a RCBS #17, and it fits the rims much better.

Call Lee up at 262-673-3075, and explain the problem to them. Above all, be nice, you get further that way. More than likely you'll have what you need in the mail that day and in your hands in 3 days.

They are good people to deal with!

I had the same problem, found that RCBS and Hornady shell holders are better. Redding and Lyman would be better also. Lee SH's work for most of their stated applications, but the #7 fails, not just "falls short" but "fails".

rcbs # 17 works sell for my carbine loads
so far rcbs seems to be the shell holders i'm sticking with

I was nosing around on midway and noticed that most mfg's list 30 carbine in with 32 acp, lee lists theirs in with 22 hornet, and uses 7B for their 32 acp. I think I may call lee, tell them they have a problem, then buy the hornady. it's cheap.
