If you reload 7.65 Argentine, 7.7 Jap, .303 Brit, 7.62x54R and 7.62x39, bullets of .311 / .312 are essential. These are all great cartridges. The supplies seem to be going away. Does anyone have any news on this topic?
Gotta love the Faz!I’ve reverted to using cast bullets for my .31”s.
However, the both (#4Mk1 Fazerkerly, referb. And Izvesk 91/30 post WWII referb.) both shoot better with the .312” Hornady than .311” Speer or PrviPart.
Both are astonishing accurate with the discontinued Hornady 174gr .312” BTHP that only Grafs carried.
I still have a box and a half left. Placed in a CMP Vintage Military match with my #4mk1 with the Hornady’s...
Doubt I’ll ever see them for sale again at affordable prices.
The M39 was a Finn Capture, and had been rebarelled to shoot .308 if I remember correctly. My '43 Izzy 91/30 shoots about 8 MOA with .308, though last time I had tried that I only had the irons. I'm getting right around 1 MOA with Speer Hot-Cor .311 150 grain over AA2495 and CCI Large Rifle. A lot of changes have been done to the rifle since I didn't get it with the Russian stock, and the receiver had already been drilled and tapped for an optic mount. My M39 Nagant shoots .308’s just fine. It helps make the 311’s and 312’s go farther.
