I know Dixie as well as a couple other places used to offer 32 rimfire reloadable setups which were essentially a brass case with a spot for a 22 blank on one end and a spot for a bullet to be loaded on the other end. Does anybody currently market these? I haven’t found any, and Dixie seems to have discontinued them.

There's a place called Roberson Cartridge Co. that specializes in stuff like that but I'm not sure about the details. rccbrass.com is their web site and I recall seeing some 32 rimfire stuff on there but don't recall the specifics.

I found good drawings of the Dixie product. It’s a really simple part that I could make a couple of over my lunch break if I have materials and the lathes at work aren’t tied up. Now it’s a question of whether I do it myself or drop off dimensions and a case of beer for the guys more proficient with our lathes. They are newer and much more complicated than the dinosaurs I have ran in the past, so much so that I would almost rather set up on the Bridgeport knee mill and bring tooling in using the table and a milling vice.

Looks like I should probably go ahead and start looking at buying a foot or two of brass rod. Being brass I would almost try it on a wood lathe and bring tools in on a cross slide table... and I have a rigid drill press that has a nice cross slide table under it. I really need to just get the case of beer and the pieces of brass. That honestly may be the cheapest route because brass ain’t cheap if I bugger it up.

You will want to give Mr. Bob Hayley of Hayley Custom Ammunition a buzz.

He doesn't have a internet site and he doesn't do email so you'll need to call or snail mail but it's probably in stock.

It’s a super tight tolerance and I blew the cylinder wall out on my first try and will have to move it in a few thousandths on the next go around, but even with a blown out cylinder wall it cleaned up and chambered. Gun heavily wrapped in old denim and leather with a heavy glove on and held behind the 8x8 deck support... perhaps overkill for test firing purposes with 22 colibri ammo... it works! I even got close to hitting the leaf I was halfway point shooting at. I will cut more of these and get a cylinder full of better examples, but truth be told this one is marginally acceptable. I will toss it out if/when I get examples which retain the cylinder wall but the firing pin hits the very edge so I can’t move much without risking reliability.
