Someone gave me a 32 S&W revolver. It has a 3 1/2 barrel, six shots and black hard rubber grips. The serial number is 161066. I has 32 long ctg on the left side of the barrel and 1761 stamped on the frame just in front of the cylinder with the cylinder open. It has 4 screws in the frame. I was wondering how old it is and would it be safe to shoot. The owner gave me a box of shells made by Lellier and Bellot, wad cutter, 100grs, .32 S&W long.

Thanks

Five-screw I-frame .32 Hand Ejector Model of 1903 (5th Change) manufactured between 1910 and 1917.

A qualified gunsmith would need to inspect the revolver to give you an opinion on whether it is in a condition which is safe to fire.
