I have a Marlin 336W with the factory sling stud/swivel/sling installed.

What I want to do is remove this and replace it with a 'Super Sling.' The problem is that I cannot get the front stud to move. Marlin says that it will just unscrew. I can't get it to move using my hands, and thought someone might have a better idea than taking a pair of pliers to it (I will just leave it alone before I take a pair of pliers to it.)

Any ideas? Maybe I'm not twisting hard enough.

Thanks.

Use a 1/8" pin punch or peice of music wire through the hole for a wrench.

Could also be someone used Lock-Tight on it at some point to keep it from unscrewing.

You will need to heat it with a torch or heat-gun enough to smoke the lock-tight before it will come off.
