It's people like that who make me glad to have the local gun guy I have. He owns a little one man shop, but if you want it and he doesn't have it, he gets it for you. I know your "smith" is local, but I just don't understand why bigger sporting good chains hire people in the firearm department that have little or no experience with the product they're trying to sell.

To the OP I'd suggest doing what you were thinking and try to educate him. Who knows he may just come around. Could be doing a service to the local community. If he stands his ground though and doesnt want to research it, if he is just convinced he is right. Then do what you can to direct bussiness away from him. I have a owners manual that came with my S&W 442 that explains the whole +p thing in a direct and detailed way. You could bring something like that to him to show him his error. Dont be to hard on him. If it were me Id kinda tease him about it a lil, to let him know that your not that serious. Hey we all are learning, we all say some pretty dumb things everyonce in a while. The main isue is if he is unwilling to learn.

.38 Super.

I've never owned one, never shot one, and don't even dislike them. But I've always referred to these cartridges as ".38 Stupid."
:D
Just my crazy sense of humor I guess.
