Now that the weather has warmed, I've been able to thoroughly test various loads/bullets in my TC .357 which I intend to use for IHMSA field pistol silhouette (25-100 m).

I have come to the conclusion, that within the limits of my factory sights which are required to be used for this class, I am unable to attain a useful zero with 158 grain bullets without running the velocity up to .357 mid-range speeds which defeats the purpose of having a mild shooting arm for this application. At .38 spl speeds, I am getting superb groups with a couple of loads tested, but still holding significantly low on the 100m Ram target!

A 125 gr ACME bullet shot well, and the POI dropped significantly lower, into a useful range for my sights. Unfortunately this bullet will be discontinued in wax-lubed form. My experience with coated bullets is universally inferior accuracy to traditional cast. You're not going to talk me out of wax lubed cast or charcoal for grilling. Performance is more important to me than convenience and clean fingers:). I do have enough to shoot this load for the season, but would like to experiment further. A TC 125 ish grain bullet is difficult to find. Most are RNFP "cowboy" bullets. I'll try some, but I have my doubts as to LR performance and accuracy potential. This firearm seems to have a preference for SWC and TC designs. Does anyone else make a suitable 120-130 grain TC or SWC wax lubed? How about this one, going even lighter. Any experience? https://www.badmanbullets.com/OnlineStore/products.php?cat=38+105+Grain+TFP+Badman+105
