Quick and simple question to all the 3rd Gen Smith owners. What is the difference in grip dimensions between the .40 full size (4006, 4003, 4046, etc) compared to the .45 full size, specifically the 4" 4566/4563?
I ask because after wanting a 4006 for years I finally picked up a 4006TSW. But I find the grip with the plastic stocks to be flat and uncomfortable, and with the rubber Hogues it's way to thick. It's still very usable but I don't like how it feels so I'm selling it.
Problem is that I love the 3rd Gen Smiths and would love to find one that feels good in my hand so I'm wondering if the slightly larger .45 models might be more to my liking with the stock grips. Anybody out there have experience with the two pistols?
