I,m new here and would like some info on reloading 40 s&w copper plated bullets. I thought I could use the jacketed data to use since there is not much data on the copper plating data. Ive been using HP38 on all my handgun reloading. would it be safe to use HP38 starting at 4.1 gr?

Welcome to THR.

For years, I have used either lead load data or start-to-mid range jacketed load data for plated bullets but Hodgdon recently added 40S&W load data for Berry's plated bullets (BERB) so we don't have to guess/wonder anymore.
155 gr BERB FP W231/HP-38 OAL 1.125" Start 5.1 gr (979 fps) 24,100 PSI - Max 6.0 gr (1130 fps) 33,900 PSI

165 gr BERB FP W231/HP-38 OAL 1.125" Start 4.7 gr (933 fps) 25,200 PSI - Max 5.4 gr (1049 fps) 33,400 PSI

180 gr BERB FP W231/HP-38 OAL 1.125" Start 4.4 gr (872 fps) 26,400 PSI - Max 5.1 gr (984 fps) 33,500 PSI
