40 to 9mm Conversion Kit for Springfield XD Sub Compact?

My son-in-law has a Springfield XD sub compact in 40mm, but prefers shooting 9mm for practice. Has a new grandchild on the way, so can't buy a new gun.
Does anyone make a conversion kit for the sub compact?

Just to be clear, he will need to get mating 9mm magazines, though some guns may work with 40 s&w mags.
Another note, I wouldn't use a conversion as a defense weapon. I have 2 guns that I have conversion barrels for. Running a 9x19 cartridge into the breach face of the 40, and you can see it is a sloppy fit. The extractor barely comes into the extractor groove. Both guns have been okay at the range, but I wouldn't want to have to trust them in a dire situation.
