44 Special dies for a 44 Russian?

I have a set of Hornady 44 Special dies. Can I use them for the 44 Russian?

Called Hornady’s tech support line and got a “maybe” answer.

44 Russian Brass (Starline)
0.956 - 0.966 O.A.L.

44 Special Brass (Starline)
1.145 - 1.155 O.A.L.

I don't believe so, at least not without some modifications. I wasn't able to get it to work with my Lee dies. But I can definitely be wrong! Lol.

I have done it with my RCBS .44 Spl dies, been so long I don't remember if there were any issues.

Dunno but I recently ordered a 44 Russian seater that I hope works for 44 special. All that was available and I found forums posts somewhere that said it would work

If not I’d be interested in swapping a 44 Russian seater for an 44Mag/special seater
