I just thought I'd pop this up here. I'm a big fan of those Hi-Tek Cowboy #3 projectiles so I decided to make some load data.

Using Unique powder, CCI Lg pistol non-magnum primers and seating to the crimp groove (I'll mic these tonight, I forgot to do that), chrono at 5' from muzzle,here's the current 10 round group average numbers I got:

5.0 grains Unique from my Charter Bulldog- 637 fps, 118 power factor.

Everything else from my S&W 629 4":

6.0 grains Unique- 794 fps, 190 power factor
6.7 grains Unique- 870 fps, 208 power factor
7.5 grains Unique- 918 fps, 220 power factor

I love the 6.5 gr Unique under a 240 gr SWC. I haven’t chronographed this load yet, but it has just enough ooomph out of the 3”GP and the 629’s to be fun clanging plates without much recoil.

Thanks for the numbers, they give me a rough idea what the velocity should be.

Stay safe!

Been running those over Longshot and 800x....cause that's what I got lol.
Gonna have to actually get some unique at some point.

Thanks for the info

Thanks Typetwelve, your findings make me happy. Lol
I need to get a chrono. That’s all I pretty much use;
Unique and MBC
