I have a couple of Hornady manuals that give load data for a 3" charter arms, which has been very useful for working up loads for a S&W 696 and Taurus 431.
If you have a CA 44spl I would use data that considers it, don't ASSume you can load for CA bull dog as if it were a S&W 24 or other modern stout built 44spl.
