I previously posted that I was having problems with my OAL and 230 gr. LRN fitting in a max. case gauge. Many folks provided many suggestions, including..be careful not to over-crimp.

Today, I had the time to play with crimp and OAL with the Leadhead 200gr. IPSC... this is a LRN bullet. This is a typical RN bullet, where the RN ends with an abrupt increase in bullet diameter. I understand that this design is easier to produce than RN that continues the curve to the full diameter of the bullet.

When the crimp was measured at 0.464" an OAL of 1.223 barely fit the max. gauge.

When the crimp was measured at 0.470" an OAL of 1.260 easily fit in the max. gauge.

Lesson learned.... Thanks for all your help..
