.45 Barrel in a Glock 19?

I'm was thinking about starting to shoot cast in my G19 and hense picking up an aftermarket barrel for it, but then I thought of the possibility of going .45.

Anyone put a .45 barrel in the G19/23/26/27 frame guns? Is it even a possibility i.e. are the G36 mags too short for the G19? If doable, is the G36 the same frame as the G19, or should I be sure to not shoot factory 45ACP in a .45 barreled G19 and stick only with my reloads?

Didn't see anything online about this. I'm tempted to just give a go, with all due prudence, but I'd figured I'd ask around first.

Different dimensions in lots of places. You COULD get a G38 top end and an ejector block for the .45 GAP and 38 magazines, then you could switch your gun from a 19 to a 38.

Some people think the .45 GAP is useless, whatever, it's another sweet cartridge that I want. Gun Tests loves it, everyone I know of who has one loves it, try it on.

With caliber conversions, you can only stay the same (rim) size or go down. You can convert from .40 S&W to .357 SIG easily because they use the same size rim. You can also convert from .40 S&W to 9mm because the 9mm rim is smaller than the .40.

It is not possible to convert a gun built for a smaller cartridge like the 9mm, to a larger one like .40 or .45.

The Glock 36 is a single stack gun. As such, it will not accept mags from any other Glock model, and G36 mags will not fit anything except the G36. The Glock 21 and 30 are .45 double stack Glocks, which use the same frame as the G20 and G29 in 10mm.

If you have a Glock 19, all you can shoot through it is 9mm. There are no caliber conversion barrels available for the 19 since it's already at the low end of the spectrum. You can only buy a conventional land-and-groove barrel for it.

Yeah to use .45 GAP you would need an entire slide, barrel, ejector block, the frame is the same, but otherwise it's a lot of parts to change out. The only one that would take more time than a field strip to change would be the ejector though, which will still only take a few minutes at most.
