I can find plenty of standard pressure load data for 45 colt Non full lead projectiles. Such as JHP, FMJ’s, Copper solids etc...

I can find plenty of 30k load data for full lead bullets as well.

What I can’t find though is high pressure 30k loads for FMJ’s JHP, and copper solids?

Does anyone know where I can find good load data?

Thanks

High pressure loads for full lead bullets? That doesnt sound right.
But generally high pressure is high pressure for any projectile lead or copper.

Hodgdon lists plenty of 28,000 to 30,000 cup loads with cast bullets, so it does “sound right”. Hodgdon, Hornady, Speer and others list high pressure “Ruger” loads for JHP and Hodgdon for Barnes copper bullets. The OP must not be looking too hard....

.

Yep, like 25-20 WCF said, plenty of options on Hodgdon’s site listing numerous high pressure (Ruger, Freedom Arms, T/C only) loads for 45 Colt. I haven’t got off my lazy rear end to look but I would bet my Lyman 4th Edition casting book has loads listed as well.

Hornady has a 30k load for their 250 and 300g bullets. Keep in mind I’m not looking for 30k loads for lead cast.... but copper jacketed and solid copper.

DOh! Didn’t think about Hodgdon! I have the latest edition of Lymans load manual and I didn’t see anything in there but the standard pressure stuff even for lead cast. I will look again. I probably just missed it.

An excellent article I read a while back and totally forgot about. He does lit a couple of JHP’s. But most of his data is still towards lead cast.

I am trying to find data for solid copper, JHP and FMJ’s. In the 250, 260, and 300g
You have some data, the lymans manual has contender loads in 45 colt that are pretty warm. Pressure isn't listed but there is 200, 240 & 250 jacketed loads listed - page 508-509. Lymans 50th ed. So if you got a contender or something strong, proceed with caution.

@Texasgrillchef

If I were looking for load data for uncommon bullets, such as the copper solids, I'd ask the bullet manufacturer.

Whose bullets are you looking to load for? I'd shoot them an email. They may only have data for one or two powders, but may also be able to guide you to more data.

For my .44mag I substitute my lead cast bullets with copper plates ones using the same load data that I used for the lead cast. I just try and keep velocities around or under the max of the manufacturers recommendation. For instance, my copper plated rounds are made by Accura, without looking I believe 1350 fps is the max that they recommend. This has worked well for me.

I'm guessing those loads would be fine in any gun chambered in .460 S&W, as well.

Speer has Ruger only 45 Colt data using their jacketed bullets at speer-bullets.com. Look under the reloading portion of the menu at handgun data.
