Anyone know a source for .45 caliber muzzle devices (flash suppressors or muzzle brake)? I'm shopping around for a custom project...

You shouldn't need either for a .45 carbine, unless it's a SBR. I can't imagine there being much flash left after 16 inches of barrel, and I doubt a muzzle brake will do anything at all - there isn't enough powder or powder velocity, especially in relation to the weight of the bullet.

Just curious, what's your project, and why does it need a flash suppressor or muzzle brake?

No mention of carbine. Could be a 45-120 :D

Anyway Brownells.com
They have a variety of brakes.

smith enterprises makes a vortex for the 45. much as i love the 223 version on my AR, i accidentally laughed out loud at them a little bit when they told me the price. i couldn't help it.

It's for a M44 Mosin Nagant to be redone in .454 Casull with a 16" barrel.

Nevermind! I had assumed you meant .45 ACP. A flash suppressor should be useful, still not sure about a muzzle brake.
