I have read several comments from people saying that the USP can handle 45 Super without modification. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of this? I know that many 45s can be converted to 45 Super, but I am bit suspect that any gun designed for standard to +P pressure levels can handle magnum pressure levels with no modification. Even the UMP is rated to handle only "limited amounts of 45 Super".

Also, does anyone have experience shooting 45 Super? What's recoil like? Accuracy?

Thanks

ran 20 cartridges of 450 SMC through my stock USP .45 with no malfunctions. Recoil was probably 15% more than generic ball. Very manageable with this platform and very fun to shoot.

IIRC the numbers of the SMC are very close to .45 Super.

cheers

Also, my USP .45 manual said it was rated for +P and +P+.
Every time I take off the slide to clean it I'm amazed how solid it's built.
