Part I

I ordered some of these Hornady 350 Gr Interlock bullets to start.

Looks like the powders that I have on hand which are suitable for full loads are H322, H335, IMR3031, IMR 4895, N133, TAC, RL15?

Anyone have any favorites among these for loading .458 etc? Is there one I should buy?

Thanks, AC

I use IMR 4895 with that bullet, but that's just because IMR 4895 and IMR 4350 are the only rifle powders I use. H335 might give you a little bit better performance though.

Update:

Ruger M-77 African (Well loved, no pic yet.)

Hornady 350 Gr JFP loaded to 2.940 (Compressed charges kept OAL .010 more than light loads using the same seater setting) with a medium plus roll crimp. Any more and the case would bulge a little right below the crimp.

WLP primers.

62 degrees, clear and crisp. One shot each.

75 Grs H-322 - 2455 FSP - Substantial recoil.

72 Grs N-133 - 2314 FPS - Substantial recoil.

Both starting loads.

Recoil was similar to 12 Gauge slugs.
