Ok, I just was reading another thread about 5.56 rounds in a .223:
HTML:
http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=354725
and got confused. Some folks said you cant shoot 5.56 in a .223 and others said you can in certain .223. Can you shoot 5.56 in a probobly 3 year old Ruger Ranch Rifle? If you can, would you even recomend it? Thanks.

The owners manual for Mini14s show that 5.56 is fine. Some people just like to argue :)

No problems.

The RUGER®MINI-14®RANCH RIFLESare chambered for the .223
Remington (5.56mm) cartridge. The Ranch Rifle is designed to use either
standardiz U.S. military or factory loaded sporting .223 (5.56mm) cartridges
manufactured in accordance with U.S. industry practice.

Here's a link to one if you want to read it.
