What's the average price for LC once fired 5.56 brass these days? I can get them for $80/1,000. That seems to be a good deal when compared to Internet prices. What do you all think?

That's a pretty fair price. I know a guy locally bought a few tons of brass at auction and is selling it for $135/k. It's a little high but he did it since everything he could find at the height of the "panic" was $150+/k. So $80 definitely seems fair. I find enough range pickups to feed my habit, but if I were buying I think I'd jump on $80/k right now.

Today, anything @ or under 10 cents a piece is fair. If it is indeed once fired I would buy it. (check for crimped primers, if the crimp is removed it's been reloaded already)

That is good price for a face to face deal. The net can sometimes be a tad cheaper but there is some risk involved(very little but there is). I like seeing the product I'm buying.

Gov auctions are great if you can beat the big companies to them. A buddy of mine managed to score a couple thousand pounds. WHAT a mess that made in the garage.
