Speed six for me. But the shield has a lot of merit too. .357 is more useful and reliable to me. Need good grips though. If size is an issue then the shield.

Micro Kimber, 6 +1, 442, 5, Security Six, 2 3/4". 9, 38, 357 respectively.

Theoretically I'd go with the Speed Six. I actually tried to trade someone last week for one, I intended it to replace my Kahr MK9 for appendix carry. In practice, I'm not really sure how I'd like a larger framed revolver with a slightly longer barrel than my little j-frame. If the Speed didn't work out, I'd go with the Shield.

I don't know much about the Rossi, but .44 special ammo isn't cheap and I'm not sure I'd want to get into reloading it. I assume it's got the largest frame too.

Unlike the Corpral, ;-) I’ve enjoyed shooting the Shield—indeed, I was surprised by how much I liked it. That said, I was raised by a Ruger wheel gun fan, and so #3 is attractive. But...it’s a concealed carry choice, not a beauty pageant. And given the likelihoods, probabilities, possibilities and chances that go along with the use of a CCW firearm, for me it’s the Shield every time. It’s more similar to what I now carry, I’ve got some positive experience with it, I can reload it much faster than the others, it’s easier to carry concealed.... A side note: .44 Spl Rossi? If I were open-carrying, and wanted something to prompt interesting conversations,...maybe. But CC? Lemme think a moment. No.

Shield is a solid choice. Nothing wrong with it.

It's smaller than a K frame, but not as small as a J. This is my hammerless version. All of them are stainless with a 3" barrel.

As someone who used to carry an SP101 in 357 (5 Shots), and later an XDs-45 (6 Shots), and now carries a P938 (8 Shots), from your list I would hands down carry the Shield.

It's flatter to carry, quicker to reload, and with the right ammo, you still get respectable enough velocities even from a short barrel that a good HP bullet should expand.

My EDC Shield sports an 8 round magazine, one in the pipe, with a spare mag I have 17 rounds of JHP. No contest, Shield all the way.
Other choices are moot.

I love revolvers, but had a shield and it's a great little pistol. I would go with the shield it's small enough to pocket carry and light enough as well. I loved the shield that is why I gave it to someone that I care about!

In order of preference, Shield, Ruger... and in a long, late, why is it here baffling third, Rossi.

The Shield is widely regarded as an outstanding carry pistol if you're into the single stack side of things. It's lightweight, thin, reliable, and reasonably accurate with a reasonable trigger. Plus, I'm a semiauto kind of guy.

The Ruger is a chonky boi in the best possible way. Is it for sale?

The Rossi brings all of an expensive caliber, the chonk, and dubious quality. I can deal with either of the first two, but certainly not all three at the same time.

Of those I would choose the Shield solely because of less weight.

The extra round is a nice bonus but not the reason I would choose it over the others.

If a lightweight revolver was among the choices then I would choose that one. My current EDC is a Smith Model 38.

The shield is lightest, thinest, has the highest capacity, and for most people, can be fired most rapidly with combat accuracy.

The Shield, all the way. Thinner, lighter, faster to reload. Why not your SD9VE? It's about that same size as your GP100. I'd put that SD9 in a good holster, and go about my business. You'd have 2 to 3 times the capacity of your other choices just with the 16 round mag in the SD9.

My opinion? Perhaps it's **** but.... I'm a firm believer that if you can't do it in 5 you probably couldn't get it done in 7, but maybe you could in 10.
