The interweb ate my post.....
Thought I posted this yesterday AM but I can not find it so here goes again.....
With the recent ID help topic I have learning just how little I know about 1849s and I have been wondering what are the differences between a five and six shot 1849 COlt .31.
Are the charge holes/chambers just closer together and there is less web between them and the cylinder the same size?
Is the hand a different length to deal with the changed number of shots?
Is the frame in any way different?
The reason I ask is that I am wondering why one of the conversion cylinder out fits could not make a replacement six shot cylinder and hand for folks owning an Uberti or Colt latest series 1849 five shot.
No doubt those of us with long out of business firm Brass frame 1849-ish guns would not be able to play but no reason those of you with money should not be able to have a "high capacity" 1849.
Hopefully this time I see the post.
