Just out of curiosity, is there any other rife or even handgun that uses the 7.62x33mm/.30 carbine round besides the M1?

There were a few other guns chambered for .30 Carbine aside from the aformentioned M1 Carbine, Ruger Blackhawk, and AMT Automag III.

Marlin made the Model 62 Levermatic lever action.

The Cristobal Carbine made in the Dominican Republic was made in .30 Carbine.

IMI made a version of the Micro Galil in .30 Carbine called the Magal.

I seem to remember a carbine made by Beretta which looked similar to the M1 but was a different design.

There was a French rifle in .30 Carbine that looked somewhat like a Marlin "M-1" .22LR. They produced their own "7.5" Carbine ammunition for their Lend Lease M-1 and M2 Carbines. It shot OK in my USGI Winchester Carbine (police suport program) but was berdan primed and I treated it like it was corrosive. It was cheaper than USGI in 1969 through 1972. I've not seen any since.

In the US at the end of WWII there was a semi auto pistol called the Kimble if memory serves, I only handled one.

The Israelis made a modified S&W type revolver that used half moon clips to make use of the .30 Carbine round for police use.

I believe TC offered a barrel for its single shot pistols in .30 Carbine at one point.

I believe the Berretta carbine meantioned earlier was basically a prototype for the Cristobal with at least one of the same engineers behind it.

Look 'em up and don't trust me.

Of course there is also the "Universal" Carbine whick looks like a duck but does not walk like one. THe only thing the Universals had going for them was that they were available with a teflon finish on metal parts including a nasty green, a obsidian like black and IIRC muttied gold. There was some talk of them being available in any teflon color such a pink. I seem to recall that at some point some were available tapped for a propratory scope mountthat allowed the use of the irons as well. Besides the standard models ther was a model with a fancy stock and a cap over the end of the stock and handguard and made for scope mounting instesd of irons. The Universals were recognizable by the fact that you could se the bolt and its peanut cuttout just forward of the cocking handle. In most folks experienc they did not wear as well as USGI or USGI types that did have intercahangable parts with GI guns. Many found the Universals to be less reliable from day one. FOlks that shot their Carbines a couple of times a year at most and were happy with the four round magazine for hunting seemed to like them, but not folks that ahot a lot for the most part.

I wonder how many shots one might get with a L or N frame size from a S&W or Taurus Revolver in .30 Carbine?

the old marlin mod 56 with the lever action, was such a strong rimfire, all parts were steel made, that thry made it in 22 mag, a 30 carbine, and something called i think a 356 mag, whatever the heck that was.

rangerruck, believe it was the .256 Winchester, which if my memory is correct, was a .357 mag round necked down to .25. Ruger made a single shot pistol called the "Hawkeye" in the same caliber.

Back in the mid 90's I saw 2 ar's chambered in 30 carbine. They were custom builds though.

Taurus made the 'Raging Thirty' revolver. Large frame, held 8 rounds. It's discontinued, but you can still see it's specs and such on the Taurus site here.
