870 HD bead sight

I just brought a NIB Rem 870 HD 7 shot for $329.I went to order my M590, but this was a good deal so I jumped on it. Now I also bought a little hi-viz orange fiber optic bead to replace the factory metal bead. I get it home, and have had no luck whatsoever getting that factory bead to unscrew. I have heated it, and still no luck. I have began to think that perhaps it is not threaded. Anyone know? The replacement bead is 6-48 threads I think. It is supposed to be made for a remington bead. Anyway, the gun shoots fine. It is black and has an extended tube to be more evil.

From my experience, the factory bead does not thread out. I screwed mine up and ended up cuting it off and glueing a Trijicon over the whole thing as pictured below. Here is another thread you might want to read. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=142633&highlight=

From what I understand, the 870's bead is pressed in, not threaded.

All I did was epoxy an XS 24/7 Big Dot sight right over the existing bead sight on my 870.

The bead on that shotgun will be pressed in.

Just FYI, the normal Remington bead thread is 6-48
