hi all need a little help have loaaded my first 2000 rds of 45 acp on my SDB (yes i drank the blue koolaid) and want to try a diff cal. 9mm for the 45 im loading 230 fmj enc in range brass with solo 1000 and win primers from powder valley what r ur favs for 9mm powder, primers and bullets thax for the help:confused:

9mm

In my 9mm I shoot 125gr LRN or lead truncated cone, loaded with either 3.5gr titegroup or 2.9gr clays. The clays load has incredibly low recoil, and both loads are pretty accurate. In general i'd say the titegroup has a little better accuracy and is what I generally prefer...but both loads are good ones.

p.s. I bought #2000 125 gr LRN bullets from stonewall bullet co. awhile back and and I like them. $80 for 2000 bullets is the best deal I could find. However, at a local gun show I picked up a box of 125gr lead truncated cone made by HARDCAST, and they are very accurate. 3.5gr titegroup with these bullets is my favorite load

I like VV320 and shoot 125 lrn, Berry's plated and FMJ. I use CCI 500 small pistol. If I run out of VV320, will use Power pistol as a back up

+1 on N320 for light to medium 9MM loads with plated or jacketed bullets.

I really like N330 for 9MM as well. One of the few places N330 works well. I also like AA #2, AA # 5, & WSF in 9MM with plated or jacketed bullets.

AA #2, W-231 or Clays would be good choices with lead target loads.

Favorite 9mm loads (load for a CZ-75B and an M&P 9mm):

115-grain Rainier FMC - 4.6 grains W-231, for 1090fps in the CZ
115-grain Rainier FMC - 5.8 grains SR-4756, for 1050fps in the CZ
122-grain Cast Trunc. Cone - 4.2 grains W-231, for 1050fps in the CZ
122-grain Cast Trunc. Cone - 5.4 grains HS-6, for 1100fps in the CZ

The cast bullets are on the hard side - ~21 BHN.
I load all of the above with Winchester Small Pistol (WSP) primers.
All are on the mild side, pressure as well as velocity.

That covers my two most accurate loads in my two favorite 9mm bullets. I tend to use the W-231 loads almost exclusively anymore, since I LOVE that powder and it's very accurate as well as my "do all" of sorts in pistols.

Hope this helps some.

Really like cast lead in 9mm, and for my guns that means sized .358". Some loads I like use Lee TL356-124-TC bullets cast from wheel weights that are water quenched, and chronographed from a Beretta M9 are:

4.0 grains Hodgdon International for 1130 fps

5.0 grains Unique for 1180 fps

4.3 grains of Power Pistol for 990 fps

4.2 grains WW231 for 1065 fps.

All function my pistol w/o any signs of hi pressure and reliably, with the Power Pistol load just at the point where any less will not reliably function.

For full power 115 and 124 grain jacketed loads I Like Unique, Power pistol, HS-6, and Accurate Arms #5. These same propellants can also push "+P" velocities at pressure levels lower than SAAMI max 35k psi pressure. Unless I am shooting powder puff cast loads, I DO NOT like to go any faster than WW231, and I also don't reload bullets heavier than 124 grains.

Some of you guys know it from another post i did. However a few months ago i was recomended to try out Longshot for 9mm. I did and i am really glad that i did. A fellow at a gun store said the powder was really good. Here is what i like about it. For one its clean. REally clean. After shooting over 500 rounds cast lead when i took home the gun clean up was really short. The barrel looked great the action was clean. Thats a major plus. Shooting. Powder is strong accuracy using it was very very good. I cant wait to make up some more. As soon as i get the urge to start casting again.

Powder Longshot Maker Hodgdon
Weight 6 grains
Bullet 125 grain Cast
Lube Lee Liquid Alox

Results Fabulous excellent powder Very clean

My latest load for 9mm has been 4.8gr of IMR 700X pushing Winchester 115gr hollow bases loaded just a little long. It is right on the edge of +P, but there are no pressure issues- even out of a GLOCK. Good shooting load with enough zing to shoot flat out to 35 yds, ring steel and take down poppers from my GLOCKs.

I call these my "Outer Limits" loads (named after a course of fire in Steel Challenge), since I can stick with point of aim even on 8" plates at 25 yds.

9mm 147gr cast lead flat point.

2.9gr Clays

3.2gr American Select

4.6gr Power Pistol

I have found are great accuracy loads.

For 124 grain Remington, Winchester, or Speer FMJ's I use 4.8-5.0 grains of Unique powder in various cases, mostly Winchester. I've only used CCI 500 SP primers. The Unique powder loads work fine in two 9mm Glocks and a Kel-Tec carbine. 5.0 grains of Unique also has been a good accurate reliable load using Rem Golden Saber 124 gr. BJHP's.
Overall lengths I've used with the 124 fmj's is 1.155-1.160" and with the Rem 124gr. GS's hollow points at an overall length at 1.120-1.125"
