I bought a CZ 75b and I'm going to start reloading ammo for it. I know, 9mm is cheap, but the cases are free and I have 3.5 pounds of 700-X powder I received on a earlier buy as a bonus, so all's I have to buy is primers and bullets.Cheap range ammo!! I was wondering what you guys use for target practice; lead, powder coated, hi teck/ powder coated, fmj, plated, hap, etc. Chime in and give me some of your wisdom!! Thanks.

Powder coated bullets that I cast my self is my current go to for 9mm. Cannot go wrong with a good round nose profile for easier feeding in just about everything. Plated 9mm are fairly cheap too. Check out SNS casting for good prices on cast bullets (both lubed and coated). https://www.snscasting.com/ For plated they always have good prices at the bullet works and shipping may still be free. https://www.thebulletworks.net/category-s/137.htm

For coated bullets, Brazos sells 115 gr Hi-Tek coated RN for $42/914 + $7 shipping ($52.95/1000 shipped) - http://www.brazosprecision.com/9mm-115gr-Round-NoseBevel-BaseNo-Groove-914ct-0046bullet_p_43.html

For plated bullets, RMR has 115 gr plated RN for $152/2000 shipped ($72.20/1000 with THR 5% discount) - https://www.rmrbullets.com/shop/bul...-115-grain-rmr-plated-round-nose-bullets-new/

For more accurate jacketed bullets, RMR has 115 gr FMJ for $154/200 shipped ($73.15/1000 with THR 5% discount) - https://www.rmrbullets.com/shop/bul...rmr-full-metal-jacket-round-nose-bullets-new/

BTW, if you want accuracy, RMR in-house manufactured jacketed bullets are "ELEY match grade" - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-match-ammunition.854750/page-3#post-11282439

As to cheapest powder, hard to beat reblended Promo which meters better now and I use 4.0 - 4.2 gr of Promo with 115 gr plated RN loaded shorter at 1.125" OAL - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...blended-promo-for-more-accurate-loads.841097/

LiveLife, great info!! I looked at RMR,s web-site and I was impressed and they have free shipping AND they are MADE IN THE US of A!!!!!

Yes, I've noticed that. When I choose a bullet I will go through the process of determining the the proper OAL. It looks like the choice will be some high teck coated bullets from my LGS (500/$33). Later on I'm going to try some of those RMR bullets. I really appreciate the info from all of you. THANKS!!!

Rocky Mountain Reloading, in house 124 grain bullets run about 7.8 cents apiece with THR discount. That's the same or less than most plated bullets
