I'm trying to establish a safe OAL which is universal in 9mm Semiauto pistols .
So I'd appreciate IF you reload this caliber and bullet combo ,any useful information which may help .

As I've got several 9's I don't want to have to do a chamber dunk on everyone . I do know they MUST be shorter than a roundnose but not so short as to ramp the pressure up the wazoo .

As I've got nearly any powder ,yet was hoping to go with Autocomp . I got it for a steal before the fiasco and have Never used it before . Again someone suggested I join the 21 St. Century and try some NEW powders ; Instead of MY old stand by's . Unique , Herco ,Bullseye ,Blue Dot I may even have some OLD 230 in the vault:) . I know I have 231 .

Berry's list their OAL on their website. Have you tried that?
The: 9mm 124gr Target Hollow Point SKU: 32871
Lists a OAL of: Cartridge O.A.L.: 1.060"

This is shorter than their 124gr RN. Plunk testing may be in your future. Good luck.

I load a lot of 124 grain 9mm that gets used in a number of different makes of guns. I use either jacketed or plated bullets (usually X Treme or Berrys for plated), whichever I can find cheap (its not always the plated either), and I load them all to the same overall length. They all usually mike between 1.13 and 1.15 OAL, and Ive never had any issues with them shooting in any of my guns.

Normally I'd agree but with these 124 FNHP Berry's THEY DON'T work like that , as the bullets Ogive is further forward ,thus preventing reliable chambering . Walther ,Sig, Canik , Ruger all agree although My Walther's swallow nearly anything they DON'T swallow Berry's Flat Nose HP Target pills . The Round nose NO problem .

NO like an Idiot I didn't even consider looking at the manufacturers Website ,as many just peddle products and offer little to no info .

Sorry, I missed the HP part.

Are the Berrys similar in size and shape to the jacketed, or other HP's you load? I wouldnt think there'd be much difference there either.

Apparently they are ,as I have other JHP 115. 124 ,135 and 147 Flat nose . Here's what I ended up doing , the chamber dunk !.

OAL where EVERYBODY was happy 1.0785 ",except the Sig :( So went down to 1.0665" and EVERYTHING functioned without a hiccup .

So that's where I left it ,now the Canik SPFx and Walther took them out to 1.120" but a couple were iffy ,as I had to ram the slide with palm of my hand . That told Me they were jamb'd into the lead . So set em to 1.0665" and Left it .

As I CC and have factory 124 Gr. JHP loads , I measured a couple of brands , BOTH were IDENTICAL IN LENGTH 1.0550" Fiocchi and Federal XTPHP and I forget the Federal now . So it looks as IF that's in the neighborhood required .

BBQ duties tomorrow ,otherwise I'd punch paper and see how they group up . I'll try Saturday with a couple of powders and variation of loads .

Again Thanks ALL for the help :)

When you determine max/working OAL/COL for different pistols, consider adding to following reference thread. TIA.
