hey guys, can a redding 9mm taper crimp die be used to taper crimp a .380?

thanks!

Yes, Maybe, depending upon your die set and dimensions. My 9MM RCBS taper crimp die will crimp .380 cases BUT there is very little room left between the bottom of the die and the shellholder. The neck of a 9MM case is around .380" while the neck of .380 brass is around .373"

You might have to whack a little off the bottom, but other than that, yes.

i came up with the same measurements as you. i`m going to try a few. if i cant tell the difference and it works ok, i`ll use my redding 9mm die. if not, i just found a redding .380 taper on gunbroker for $22. may just get anyhow.

thanks for the reply!
