I recently bought a HK USP Elite 9mm, and I have a few questions about it's recoil/buffer spring assembly.

1) How many (standard pressure) rounds is a USP recoil/buffer spring assembly good for?

2) Where can one reorder a factory replacement recoil/buffer spring assembly?

3) How much do they cost?

Thanks.

I believe you'll NOT wear it out . They're supposed to withstand tens of thousands of rounds. Head to HKPro.com for anything and everything about HK products.
Oh yeah. Good choice! :) You get the hard cased one or soft cased one? Got my Elite a few months ago - HK #4

Thanks, BlkHawk73.

Mine came with a hard (aluminum?) case like yours in the photo. Very accurate. Great trigger, especially SA. I'm very happy with my new USP Elite!

Are the adj sights solid black, or do they have dots on them like the fixed sights?

i called HK about a year ago to ask when i should replace the recoil spring (on a compact, a different system than the full size) and the guy i talked to said its not a bad idea to replace it at about 10,000 rounds if you want to be cautious but its not necessary to replace it at all. springs are wear items and will wear out eventually. its my opinion that if its on your carry piece where reliability is a prime issue, its worth it to replace it every so often. i've never heard of a recoil spring issue with USP's though. i'm affraid i didn't get a price but you can call them at 703-450-1900.

Hell I never heard any issues with the USP at all! :) Otherwise the typical, cost too much or is it worth it? That's not gun issue, it's buyer's problem. :rolleyes:

Use this phone number instead for all HK service: 205-655-8299. You'll probably get a free replacement if it really breaks, ... if.

{{{sigh}}}

An Elite is at the top of the To Buy list, should I succeed and be published (Top 100 Titles for a month or two would be just the ticket). . .

All it took to get me hooked was my USP Compact .45acp

{{{sigh}}}

:rolleyes:

I haven't given up yet!

I have to tell you, as far as my USP 45 goes...In the last few months I had been considering trading my USP on a new Kimber Pro Raptor II, just because I had heard a lot of good things about Kimber, and found that gun so damn good looking. I went to my local gunstore and rented a Kimber Ultra II to test fire and get a feel. In my first box of Winchester white box target ammo, I had TWO jams. Immediately went right back to my USP and fired off 3 more boxes. I have fired probably 7500 rounds through my USP in the last year with never so much as a hiccup...Glad I tried out the Kimber before I traded of the HK. It would have been a mistake IMO.

I know what you mean about the Kimber. I had a SIG P226 ST 9mm that was 100% reliable, and very accurate, but I traded it for a Kimber Stainless Target II 9mm. The Kimber was accurate, and had a good trigger, but it had reliability problems.:(

. well, I'veheard talk of Kimber lately and not all too good. MIM parts - bad. As for looks, doesn't do a thing for performance and I'd much rather have a gun that perfromed rather than look pretty.

HK Parts

nero45acp---Go to hkpartsonline.com. Just about all you'll need.But I doubt very much whether you'll need a recoil spring anytime soon - 10-15,000 rounds down line (and then even questionable). But check that site and give them a call - very nice people.
