I live in the DFW Metroplex area and have been a patron of Sportsman's Warehouse in Lewisville, TX for some time now. They have been my main firearms and shooting supply store. I feel that that says something cosidering that we have two Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas and a couple of Ganders Mountain stores somewhat close to the area. If you live in this area and like this store, please e-mail them and let them know that they need to re-open their store at a better location in the metroplex.

Thanks Rokman

I realize that I should have posted this thread somewhere else and stated in the title that it's the DFW area, so you folks that live far away wouldn't waste your time reading this. I am just bummed that a quality store with a good selection of firearms and knowledgeable people to talk with will be closing.:(

Well maybe I send them an e-mail... you have an e-mail for them? I have never been to the store but I am not a big fan of big box stores running every great small shop out of business.

:)

This chain is not going out of business. It's opening new stores in other citys. It was just in a bad location with bad access from I-35. It was definately not as painful as purchasing a firearm from BPS.

I have been there several times since they have been opened. I admit, I do like the store, but they are overpriced on nearly everything. Their ammo is 25% on the average more than anywhere else. Stuff like that puts them in trouble, especially in DFW where we have sooooo many gun shows, gun shops and of course Bass Pro and Cabelas. I have spent a lot of money in there this month now that they are closing...stuff is reasonably priced. I will admit, theu have a great handgun selection and are somewhat reasonable on them from the few I have looked at. Their clothes, ammo, hunting gear and camping gear are what is way overpriced.

They have made more money on me this month than they have the whole time they have been open. I would like to see them stay open (and to me, that location is as good as any). I just wish they would see this as a sign that they are not very competitive in the DFW area due to price alone.
