I recently ran across this article and found it an "interesting" idea, not necessarily a GOOD idea, just interesting. The article is rather old so if it's been posted before I apologize for the repost.

When the trigger was pulled on this Colt 38 from 1938, it snapped a photo while shooting a bullet at the same time. Invented by Abraham Kurnick of Brooklyn, New York, it would have made a great tool for cops (or for hit men), though it was clearly developed with law enforcement in mind, as many police-issue revolvers at the time were .38 caliber. The idea was that even if the shot missed the lawbreaker, then a negative was automatically available which was adequate in quality to be of value to the police in identifying and arresting the criminal.

As much as I hate rails and doodads...

Something 21st-century, that could record a minute or so of sound and video, would be something I'd be willing to add to my CCW.

I hadn't thought of actually useing one these things. I personally would never put one on a defensive gun, but I have seen times (repeatedly last hunting season) it would have been really nice to be able to tell exactly where the deer was and which way he ran after the shot. But I'm a little to hard headed and old school for that.

I just need to get my youngest a LOT more trigger time. Lol
My oldest was/is a natural, my youngest not so much.

That's just neat; nothing new under the sun.
I think they should be standard for police, so we could see what armed government agents are pointing guns at. Kind of like dashboard cameras in patrol cars.

I don't think police would like it. Might end up with a lot of additional training. But, on the other hand, it might eliminate multiple officer put on admin leave when only one of them fired the shot in question.

Pretty nifty device, especially for back then. And updated today with digital technology would probably make for a big seller for some ingenious company. Thanks for sharing.

Would have been neat for movies if you put a slight delay on it - have a Batman-esqe freeze frame of the bad guy getting shot, from the gun's POV. In 1938, that would have been Oscar material.
