A very fun day out shooting - or all the fun guns I got to shoot
Today was a great day for shooting so a few friends and myself went out into the woods to do a little blasting. There were a total of 7 people shooting, and we had 7 different guns between us. Range was about 20 yards. The 4 guys tried each gun, while the girls seemed to like to stay with the 2 .22's.
Ruger SRH .454 C- I always love shooting my buddy's SRH. The recoil is tremendous but it is not unmanageable. 2 of the guys hadn't ever shot the big boy before. They did well with it and had huge smiles on their faces when they were done.
Ruger Blackhawk .45 Convertable - This is what I mostly shot. I had the .45 ACP cylinder in most of the afternoon. All the guys liked shooting the .45 ACP. When I put the .45 Colt cylinder in I loaded it up with some 300 gr. Cor-bons. No one liked these very much (except me) in the Blackhawk. The .454 owner tried them in his SRH and liked them in there.
Glock 23 .40 S&W - I shot 3 magazines and had a blast. I really liked the .40's recoil, and I found that I really liked the trigger on it. It was my first time shooting a Glock and it was a great experience.
S&W .357 Magnum - 6" barrel, stainless, not sure the model. This gun was great in single action, I couldn't hit anything double action. I am not used to shooting double action so that wasn't much of a surprise to me. In single action this gun proved to be the most accurate.
S&W .22 LR - 4" Barrel, blued, not sure the model. This was great in single action, and the double action was much smoother than the .357.
Ruger Mark II Govt .22 LR - Lots of fun. What more can I say.
I am very happy with my Blackhawk, but I need to start reloading so I can afford to shoot heavy loads more often. I liked the Glock the most of the other guns that I shot with the S&W .22 running a very close third.
