My gut reaction is that it's an identity theft scam. I can only imagine people submitting driver's licenses, social security numbers, etc.

I couldn't find anything on eBay about that in particular, but there is a <deleted> of different types of CCW badges "for collecting purposes only" available.
They'll think of anything to get your money.

It will randomly show up when you sign out of eBay.
Could be a Discover card ad or McDonalds then maybe this pops up. Refresh the page a few times when you sign out.

The way I read the add, and I didn't "click" it, is you take the class from them, then you submit the paperwork to the proper authorities and get your permit. I think what they're selling is an online course, which some states accept.

Google, Firefox, IE and the other internet browsers track what kind of stuff you view and tailor the ads to you. I run an ad blocker so I don't see ads at all. But, seeing how this is nothing new and not firearms related we are done here.
