I am going to buy a very small gun for pocket carry and I have narrowed it down to two. I am trying to decide between the Kel Tec p32 and a north american arms Black Widow in 22mag. I like the size of the NAA better but I wonder if the single action will be too slow if I ever had to use it. I have shot both and I have read all about Kel Tec problems but I do like the bigger caliber than the NAA. What advice would ya'll give?

Buy the Kel-Tec......the newer ones are much better from the factory. in addition to that, it has a bigger bullet (I prefer the P-3AT myself) and I'm pretty sure weighs less.

Yuck!

Mouse guns suck #$@! :barf:

If you plan to use it for CC/protection get a well made 9mmNATO, .357sig or .40S&W sub compact.

Small caliber pocket guns are not going to provide the best level of protection in a real CQB type event.

Get a new Glock model 26/27/33 or a SIG sauer P-239 DAK or a HK P-2000sk model LEM if you can...

NATIVETEXAN wanted advise on pocket guns. He is probably not interested in folks telling him it's a bad choice. :)

I have a NAA .22 Mag that I carry a lot, as well as a .32 Seecamp. I would take neither to a gunfight, but they are easy to carry and are much better than the bazooka you left at home. I am also very interested in the new Ruger LCP.

When I carry a full sized gun, it's a 1911.

Go with the P32.

8 rounds of semi-auto .32 ACP beats five rounds of single-action .22 Mag any day.

But carried a step further, the P3AT isn't much bigger at all, and carries 7 rounds of .380 ACP.

Friends don't let friends carry mouse guns...

LOL:D
You are right, I should respect the choices of the other members but I would add that small caliber pistols may not be the best thing in real CQB type incidents.

A few years ago a off duty sworn LEO in a major city fought off a few armed robbers. His pistol was a pocket type .25acp, :uhoh:. The brave cop lived and now has a full size pistol on and off duty. ;)

PS: The police officer was wounded in the attack but recovered and was named LEO of the year. :D

There is a good argument to have a bigger/better gun. I have small 9mm's but my Kel-Tec .380 gets carried into places where a bigger/better gun just would not work. Better to have a mousegun in your pocket than a real gun in your car. My Kel-Tec has been perfect. I do not shoot it a lot. This is a gun that was not built to withstand thousands of rounds at the range. I fired it a lot when new just to check reliability and only put a mag full through it now and then to practice.

Just to let ya'll know: I currently carry everyday either a Taurus 85UL or a Sig P6. Both are great but sometimes I just want something light to throw in my pocket and go. I agree that both the Kel Tec and the NAA are small and not a great primary handgun but it gets very hot here in Texas and I subscribe to a 32 in the pocket is better than 38 or 9mm in the safe.

While a Glock 26/27/33 might be better, my opinion is that the Kel-Tec is better because its a slightly bigger gun and has better capacity to make it through an incident. Anything smaller than .380 is likely going to be expensive to train with and get good enough to shoot accurate. I tend to carry a Glock 26 myself, but other small guns are not beyond consideration. Take into account size vs. practice costs because even the smallest person can find ways to conceal even the largest guns.

My vote would be the Kel-Tec. Things are so simple to use with no safety to worry with at the wrong time. When you are in a situation where you need a handgun all fine motor skills are gonna be out the window.
