I just picked up a Romarm Carpati Model 95. It seems to be a pretty good rip off of a Walther PPK.

Anyway; here is the question I need some advice on.
I want to get the front sight to stand out better. It is part of the slide, so replacement is not going to happen. My thought was to paint it either bright white, or orange, to get it to stand out from the rear sights.

Any suggestions on types of paint to use, or other options?
Any tips I need to know about painting it, or is it just simply apply paint/let dry?

Also any info anybody has on this pistol would be helpful. I've searched all over, and come up with nothing.

Model airplane paint is reputed to be solvent-resistant.

I'd try something cheap to figure out what color you want, and then upgrade to the permanent paint. You'll need to seriously degrease any part of a gun you want to paint.

Been there done that

I am far-sighted and have trouble getting a great sight picture without my glasses. Unfortunitly I only need them to read and the bad guys don't wait for you to get them out. I have, after years of practice, aquired the point and shoot technique. But I still highlight the front sight to help second shot aquisition.

1st choice is a gold bead, nothing works better. I have used green paint that glows in the dark after being exposed to light, OK in the right setting. Also widening the rear sight opening a few thousands works really well. In conclusion, any color, or contrast between the front and rear sight is the key. What color works best for you is a trial and error process.
