Well, I mostly lurk here, but I thought I would post in hopes for some good advice. There are not many Galil's floating around out there, so getting info is never easy.

I have been researching and looking for the best option on how to mount an Aimpoint ML2 on my Galil AR. So far I have it narrowed down to three options. I would love to hear opinions, suggestions, and ideas from other Galil owners who might have tried this in the past.

The first is the scope mount from Vulcan Arms seen here: Link (scroll down a bit)
Seems like it might do the job. The ring is 30mm, and it looks high enough so I will still be able to use IS. I have heard some less than good things about Vulcan Arms though.

Second is this: Link A bit cheaper, but to mount the Aimpoint I would need to get a weaver base and a 30mm ring. Also, I am not sure if this mount sit over the receiver, or canted off to the side like the original Galil mounts.

Last is the standard gas tube rail by Botach. Here is a Link
I have already ordered one, but had to send it back. The dimensions were way off. The gas piston would not clear the tube, and the receiver cover notch at the end of the gas tube was not cut deep enough to seat the receiver cover fully. My faith in this product is not great.

Any thoughts, info, or opinions would be very helpful. TIA

The Israelis have mounted Elbit Falcon and Aimpoint dot scopes as well as Meprolight reflex sights on Galils before, I've seen one with a a Falcon in person and others in pics. I don't know what sort of mounting hardware they have, but it CAN be done.

Might want to talk to Knight Armarment Systems (KAS) and see if they can custom modify one of their rails for your Galil.
