The local shop has AK 22LRs for sale for a hundred bucks. Anyone have any experiences with them? Are they junk. Should I save 50 bucks and get a 10/22? HELP!

if it's an armscor, get something else. i speak for personal experience. maybe i just haven't found its favorite ammo yet, but it just seems to stovepipe every other round with everything i've tried so far as of late.

Wow I thought i was the only one to ever own one of those. My dad bought one for me when I was a kid and I had it up until last year, I sold it, because I needed to pay some bills. It was an armscor and It did great for me. I had a few problems stovepiping but that was after about 300 rds and a long day at the range. For a hundred bucks they are pretty neat, but If I was to do over again I would have saved my money and had my dad chip in on a real ak.

the Armscor AR15 "look alike" is more like an AR with a disfiguring bone disease. At least the Armscor AK .22 look-alike actually looks (almost) like an AK. It might be fun and worth getting if it runs however, for 1 benjamin - depends on your budget - whether you have the $ for another one if it's a lemon. Of course, it may be some other type, not an Armscor, though I'm not sure what... ???

I like shooting mine, but cleaning it is absolutely awful. Basically, you end up having to detail strip the whole piece. Takes at least four or five different bits, a couple of punches, etc.

Probably too much to expect that it field-strip like a real AK, but the gyrations you have to go through just to clean it are a real pain.

I'm probably going to sell mine and just get a .22 conversion kit.
