AK magazine questions

So I'm getting a WASR 10 in the near future, and I was wondering....

1) What high capacity mags perform well? Are the 40 rounders reliable? Or should I stick with 30?

2) Also, how much is a good price for a high capacity double stack AK mag?

3) What about brands or countries of origin? Anything I should avoid?

As long as they're military issue and in good condition all AK magazines are reliable, so it doesn't matter if they're 30 or 40 rounds mags.

As for country of make, the Bulgarian, East German, and Hungarian are usually the best.

Again, all military issue AK mags are reliable so I' would just buy the ones in the best condition.

As for pricing, KY Imports has or had the following: New East German 30 round used for $10.99, East German new 30's for $12.99, and East German 40's for $18.99.

I have some of each but for some reason I always take my 20 rd tanker mags to the range.

Do not get el cheapo plastic mags. The feed lips crack if you ever try to load them to full capacity. Stick with cheap metal ones and you'll be fine.
