AK side scope mount

A BIG problem I've found with many of the Weaver-style mounts for AK side rails is that they're not properly centered over the boreline - usually they're ½" to 1½" off to the side. This is not conducive to accuracy... :fire:

Have 1 like pictured in sportsmansquide. For me it places the optics to high for me to get a comfortable shoot pciture. It is a good solid mount...make no mistake about that at all. It just doesn't work well for me.
YMMV.

What kind of scope are you looking for? My recommendation is instead of adapting it to western optics you either buy a PSO scope if you are looking for telescopic sights or a Kobra if you are looking for red dot.

I have one of the belorussian mounts to put my bushnell holosight on my Arsenal SLR101. That thing is built solid...i don't think i could break it if i tried.

Tantal sells just about every sort of ComBloc optic/mount there is and has superb customer service (I've done business w/him for years, tell him Tomac sent you): http://tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/ . If your Vepr is 7.62x39 then check out the 4x24 PSOP scope w/the bullet drop compensating reticle for the 7.62x39. HTH...

Count on what Preacherman said being true. You have to drive the two pins out of the mount and adjust it by loosening the screws.

The Belarussian ones like you are looking at seem to be the highest quality, just make sure you get the low mount and not the night mount. The high mounts are made for giraffes.

Yes, I second contacting Tantal for combloc optics.

A good outfit with a great reputation, and a good value on the optics and mounts as well.

I have both a PSO-1 scope (4X) and a cobra red dot sight, and like them both very well. The pso-1 scope is brighter than it you would think due to it's ruby coated lenses.

I have POSP 4x24 from nightvisionweb.com ($100) for my SAR-1, and it's excellent. Optics are top-notch and I like the chevron reticles a lot better than the typical American crosshairs, and it's even got an internal LED to illuminate the reticle in low light. The fact that the elevation and windage adjustments are in Russian is also neat. Best group with the SAR and this scope so far is 2.5 MOA, not bad for a SAR in 7.62x39 (ammo was Norinco lead core).
