That's a shame. Hope they fry them. I believe the case in the lower forty thta you mentioned might have been here in Columbus - no homicide though.

No death penalty here, we simply don't have the $$ to do it. We'd have to increase the PD's budgets and the DA's budgets if we wanted to have any chance of getting out of the appeals intact. Instead, our worst cases are given beautiful views of Resurrection Bay near Seward. Not my idea of just punishment, but then again it might be the worst punishment--SEEING all that beauty and freedom and knowing you'll never partake of it.

It amazes me that nobody has done a "Fugitive" ripoff movie set near Seward. What a place to escape into!

another update

2 of the robbers were employees of the woman they killed. they had better get life sentences. theres no way they could claim the shooting was 'accidental' or 'unintentional' or 'self defense'.

in other news, there was another homicide yesterday, man shot while at a friends home.

The slaying is the 11th homicide in Anchorage this year. That figure does not include the two torsos found in Cook Inlet, which are being investigated as homicides. The May 3 disappearance of 21-year-old Bethany Correira is not counted in the total.
