I have a left-canted front sight, too, and though it zeros and shoots 4 - 8 inch groups (ammo and heat dependant) with the iron sights from a steady bench, it doesn't line up quickly when running squad/tactical drills. Am I correct in assuming that I can just put the barrel in a vice and whack the front sight base with a rubber hammer to move it over a smidge (I mean, it is an AK afterall :D )? Or do I have to drill out the pins? That would seriously suck.

$420 for a 10/63 would be a very good deal, if it is as tight and accurate as mine is. I have really been surprised at the newer CAI stuff.

And I agree that $1200 or more for an AK is kind of silly. I don't care what kind of whiz bang doo dads you put on it, it's still an AK and the very best examples of the breed (Saiga, imho) will still never shoot better than 2 MOA with match ammo - except for that one Saiga with a 20" barrel that shot 1 inch groups. I saw it with my own eyeballs. :D . In my world an AK is a SHTF rifle, a sometimes brush gun for deer with PSP ammo, and a fun plinker, to me. I couldn't see spending more than $700 or $800 for the very best of them set up just like I want it. Not logical, at least to me it isn't. But someone is spending $2000 a pop on Krebs higher end stuff. He wouldn't be selling them if they didn't move at all. :D

I would like to find a used Arsenal in good shape or an IO STG2000. Those are the only two things I find interesting and might make me part with dead presidents.

I think I may have worded my inquiry wrong by saying "surplus"

Would it be fair to say a WASR has "used parts"
