I'm going to start loading for a new to me Redhawk in 44 mag.
Is 300 MP like H110 in that it can be dangerous to go too low with the starting charge? I've used 300 MP in .357 and I really like it, very accurate in my Security Six. The problem is Alliant data doesn't give a starting load.
I'm going to be loading 240 gr XTP's for now and then I'll be loading 240 gr Zero JSP when my order arrives. Brand new Starline brass and CCI 300 primers.
For the XTP I'm thinking I'll start at 22.5 grains. Alliant's data is 25 grains for a 240 Gold Dot.
I'm getting more cautious (nervous) about developing new loads. Do you think this is a good starting point? I'd go lower if it's safe to do so.
