I have been looking at some books/internet pages that talk a bit about the Springfield Allin conversion line of rifles. I understand pretty much the whole thing, except the extractor. How does the extractor work? Everything that I have found said that the extractor didn't work well with the copper cases that they used when the trapdoor first came out, but I can't find anything on how they worked (or didn't).
So.... Can someone post some pictures, drawings, a link to a page that is very descriptive, or can someone just explain it? Any help would be appreciated.
Moderators, if this should be in some other section, please move it, I am not quite sure where it should be; here, blackpowder, gunsmithing and repairs, firearms research....
