I've heard a lot of comments about this company, most of them unfavorable. Anyone have any positive/negative experiences with them? They specialize in AR-15 type rifles.

Although I don't own one, I can tell you that your resale value will definitely suffer with an ASA rifle. Folks are a good bit weary about them due to a lot of negative comments. I've seen folks really take a hit on resale when compared to other brands.

Again, I can't say firsthand because I don't own one, but I do routinely monitor the "For Sale" boards over here and at AR15.com and this has been my observation.

You could get nice Rock River for the price of an ASA rifle.

I had one of their rifles briefly. It worked fine. I sold it because I just can't bring myself to love ARs. The guy I sold the rifle too has not had any problems with it either.

I have met the ASA shooting team at 3 gun matches. They are a great bunch of folks.

I bought one of their AR15A2 rifles, had to send it back as the front sight was not sitting at top dead center and I could not adjust the windage enough to compensate.

After that I have had no problems with the rifle. I installed a JB trigger and I have purchased another upper and the mix and match of switching from a totally ASA rifle to rifle of mixed origins has not been a problem. I have about 1000 rounds total thru both uppers.

I got good service when I sent it in altho that was some 2 years ago. I know over on AR15.com they are the target of a lot of grief and complaints mostly about the attitude of the owner.

All in all, I'd not purchase from them again mainly because of the discontent many have with them even tho my experiences have been different.

A friend of mine, against my warnings, was enticed by the cute young thing they had working the gun shows. He bought 2 uppers with all the bells and whistles. The first M-4 clone has the barrel screwed on off center, seems somebody in their quality control must be cock eyed. The second won't let the bolt go into battery as the locking lug recesses are not machined properly. He has yet to get these siuations resolved! Seems like the suppliers for the parts like to get paid and aren't giving him anything anymore. The assemblers must be minimum wage Mc Donald drop outs from the trash I've seen!:uhoh: :barf:
