In a situation that we see in Israel now if/when the SHTF what 9mm ammo would you have, 115g ball or HP? The ball ammo is much cheaper in bulk. This would not be ammo for concealed carry rather for home and personal defense. I hope this makes sense.

If I had to defend myself, that is SHTF to me; I've got Ranger T 127 +P+, HST 124/147 +P and Golden Saber 124 +P in 9mm HP.
FMJ is for practice or if one ran out of HP; but, stocking up on HP in advance is a thing.
FMJ 9mm makes .36 holes - there are several 9mm HP bullets that expand to .60 or more (the ones I listed).
If I'm having to defend myself, I perceive larger holes in attacker(s) as advantageous to stopping them ASAP.

Don't expect this thread to last long if you keep throwing around SHTF. Keep it realistic.

As far as what is happening in Israel, I have no doubt there are soldiers running around with mix matched ammo due to supply issues. In any situation you start off with the ammo you are used to. The good hollow points you have stocked or loaded yourself. The longer a conflict goes on without resupply, the deeper down the barrel you have to go may involve FMJ rounds. Still enough to take down a threat with proper shot placement.
