You need to keep up to date, stay in touch with your representatives, and even if it's only $5, contribute to the organizations fighting for the 2nd amendment.

The anti gunners like Soros aren't backing off, so we can't afford to either.

This all seems somewhat disingenuous to me.
This bill affects all internet users. It doesn't target gun owners specifically. While it is certainly concerning, to describe it as "gun control" seems to be a bit of a stretch.

As for this one, it claims, "In fact, Congresswoman McCarthy’s bill would turn widows into instant FELONS if their late husbands possessed a 12-round magazine!"

But that's simply not true based on the actual text of the bill, those would be grandfathered: (ii) Clause (i) shall not apply to the possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device otherwise lawfully possessed within the United States on or before the date of the enactment of this subsection

After that, it's a bunch of, "he said, she said" of all the things the senate might add if the bill gets there. Since it's a house bill stuck in committee since the day it was introduced, that's some pretty wild speculation.

This one claims the National League of Cities has all these stated goals, but I can't find any reference to these stated goals. You'd think the site would have some evidence to back up these claims.

It's important to remain aware of what's going on, but alarmist stories don't do us any favors.

Jorg: I agree with you on pretty much everything you said.

CISPA though, is VERY dangerous to EVERYONE. If you haven't checked the thread I posted in Activism (along with exerpts and explanations of CISPA) you really should take a few minutes to read it.

CISPA isn't necessarily gun control, it's more like populace control. "Here, we're gonna lock you in the closet and set your house on fire, but don't worry - it's for your own safety!"

Besides the factual accuracy question I don't see any clear plan of action here.

This forum isn't for crying "Alarm, alarm!" or making vague general exhortations to do something. A specific plan of action is required that other members can put into play otherwise the thread needs to be in General.
