Dumb paranoid question... I know.

Ok… given how crabby the BATFE is about form 4473 and putting “YES”, “NO” and no abbreviation; Does 7CR need to be filled out the say way. Questions 11 through 13 seem to just require checks or X’s, but being properly condition by out friendly JBT’s I’ve actually written “NO” in ‘No’ column and have not abbreviated any addresses.

I’ve got a second form and will be tidying up some other bad penmanship and such so I’m taking this opportunity to ask if I should replace those NO’s with X’s? Or does it even matter?

Thanks.

I used abbreviations for the State names in addresses and put Xs in the NO column. Got my C&R in 15 days...(FYI: Texas folks say it takes a much longer time to process in their region)

Consider yourself lucky! I was wondering why mine took so long! The ATF charged my CC the $30 on August 15th, and I literally just got the license in the mail yesterday! That's over 4 months (and three phone calls... well, more than that actually, so I guess I should say three RETURNED phone calls) later.

Pretty sad if you ask me, but what can you do about it? At least it's here, and I've made several copies so they're ready to sign and mail out as needed.

I used a mixture of abreviation and spelled out (as in, in writing out the same address a second time I abreviated it to Rd. and ST)... it took almost exactly 90 days and no calls... actually, I called them on the 91st day and they said "it was mailed yesterday". I also used marks (X) instead of writing out "no" or "yes", and I've done that on 4473s as well... nobody said anything.

Still, it can't hurt you to fill it out exactly the way you'd fill out a 4473.
